I love this latest one from the new wax pastels.

In the spirit of "one-a-day" and other "words to live by," I thought I would post the 5 morning routines practiced by Tim Ferriss (a blogger who studies high-performing individuals). Tim does these routines faithfully to set his intention for the day and to limit distractions as he moves through the day.

#1 Make the bed. (He went on at length about why this is important but I will spare you...for now!)

#2 Meditate.

#3 Hang. Tim Ferris does this hanging every morning to stretch his back. He also does inverted hangs.

#4 Brew tea. Again, he goes on at length about the blend of tea he brews and how he brews it.

#5 Journal.

Do any of you have routines that you follow? I have been doing an hour or so of yoga first thing every morning. And I have coffee. I have to have my coffee.

Drawing/painting/doodling is one of my 'must do' every day amount a list of other routines. I usually do it early in the morning. Some days only an hour or so when I do not feel like doing any art, mostly I spend anywhere between 3-4 hours and sometimes it would become a full day's fun work. Some days are hard to start and when that happens I doodle for a while and wait for any kind of inspiration to start working on something more interesting. Some days I pick up an old unfinished (or to be discarded) piece and start playing with it. My various art materials are within reach at my workstations so I can just sit down and pick up anything I feel like working with.
There are a few "must" on my daily routines and art is close to the top of the list.
