Learn from the Masters

"After Matisse"   Oil on canvas board  14" x 11"
This painting has been sitting on my husbands desk forever.  It is an oil painting I did back some 30 years ago.  I wanted to study Matisse and his sense of colors and his brushwork.  It was finished in one session - about four hours - a challenge for me to paint fast and not fuss with details.  It was a great exercise that I have not done enough of.  There are so many great artists out there that one can learn from..... unending inspirations!

One-a-Day

Make art every day, make it a habit.
Draw/Paint something every day, on your sketch book, on a larger size paper or canvas.  Use any medium you like.  Draw/paint anything that comes to mind.
Go to your workstation and start with doodling for a few minutes, even if you don't feel like drawing at the moment.  Try it first thing in the morning, in the afternoon or in the evening, at least once a day.  It might help if you have a designated area for your art, leave a sketch book open and a pencil next to it before you go to bed the night before.
Happy drawing/painting!
